DESCRIPTION

Mafia works is a 2-4 player party game built on backstabbing and sabotage. It was a fun game for me to get some experience on! For this game, I assisted in almost all of its aspects, such as design, playtesting, marketing, and asset creation!

Game Design, UX, and Playtesting

What I did

For my first role, I helped design and playtest the game! My design expertise was called upon to develop rules, play the game, take notes, and preset my genuine unfiltered thoughts on how I felt the experience went.

After that, I was able to present my ideas on how to adjust or fix small parts of the game. We went through countless iterations and eventually came to what you see to your right!

My jobs as a designer and playtester were:​​

  • Create and develop rules and mechanics for a betrayal-focused party game.

  • Play countless games at a time while taking careful notes of each playthrough.

  • Present notes to fellow designers and explain the findings in careful detail.

  • Attend meetings to discuss potential fixes to discovered problems.

What I did

Once the game was ready for print, I helped not only create all of the cards and packaging, but also got the game ready for its kickstarter release! In the link below, you can see the full kickstarter, as well as a couple of the cards I created!
